{Schools & Programms}

This program is designed to provide learners the basic fundamentals in electronic technology. The course provide learners with a broad-based knowledge of electronic concepts such as circuits and symbols, resistance and resistors and alternating currents and voltages, theory of semiconductor devices, transistors are also covered within the program. Basic skills aimed at increasing your overall employability.

This certificate is awarded to learners who complete the required courses with an accumulated grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Learner’s can begin their course of study when they are ready and within defined parameters progress at your own pace. Learners may take more than one course at a time, however it is recommend that you do not, at least until you become entirely comfortable with your study system. The distance learning element of the program guarantees that learning takes place without any sort of disruption to learner careers.

Program Objective

The program is designed to provide an opportunity for learners to:

  • update their knowledge, skills and abilities;
  • make a transition into a electronics technology position;
  • learn electrical code requirements, to read schematics and determine troubleshooting procedures;
  • identify electronics components and its functions;

Program Learning Outcome

Upon graduation, learners are expected to demonstrate the following skill set;

  • demonstrate knowledge of theory of a range of electronic devices and circuits and the ability to test them;
  • correctly identify the production, characteristics, applications, and voltage change methods of Direct Current and Alternating Current;
  • correctly calculate quantities in DC and AC circuits containing resistive devices, capacitors, and inductors using Ohm’s and Watt’s Laws, Kirchoff’s Laws, and appropriate circuit analysis methods;
  • identify common component symbols and explain the functions of common electronic components.
